LOUIS DE POORTERE IMPRESSES AT BGNFS

Visitors to this year’s Buying Groups National Flooring Show (BGNFS) saw Louis de Poortere showcase its latest in-house collections, alongside rugs resulting from its partnership with British design house Romo.

Visitors to this year’s Buying Groups National Flooring Show (BGNFS) saw Louis de Poortere showcase its latest in-house collections, alongside rugs resulting from its partnership with British design house Romo.

Louis de Poortere has worked with the design company to turn some of its most iconic wallpaper and fabric designs into hand-tufted or flatweave rugs in colourways for today’s homes. As part of the collaboration, Louis de Poortere has also teamed with the designers from Villa Nova, renowned for its stylish and innovative fabrics, wallcoverings and accessories for modern living. As visitors to this year’s BGNFS saw, the result of the partnership with both brands is a diverse collection including on-trend geometrics, tribal patterns, subtle abstract designs and botanicals, all designed to coordinate wonderfully with fabrics, wallcoverings and cushions.

While the attraction of Romo was undeniably a draw for many visitors, Louis de Poortere also cemented its own reputation for beautiful design with brand-new introductions in the in-house collection, including the stunning Antiquarian. Reworkings of iconic library designs in modern colourways and with a hand-distressed effect, Antiquarian continued to receive high praise from visiting retailers.

Alongside, the latest design in the Mad Men series – The Cracks – was also shown. In colourways of Dark Pine, Deep Mine and Abyss Blue, the design echoes the world below the surface; straight and broken lines through gloss and matt yarns creating a wonderfully intoxicating effect. Rounding out new launches in an extraordinary show for the manufacturer, The Streaks also made an appearance. Capturing the ripples and streaks in the sandy shores of New Jersey and Long Island, this stylish rug is available in five colourways.

Alan Russell, Sales Director, commented: “This year’s attendance at the BGNFS has been one packed full of new launches and we’ve been delighted with the response received to every single one. It’s clear that the Louis de Poortere name is becoming more prominent in the UK interior retail sector and our partnership with Romo is only serving to highlight this. We were really enthused by the number of buying group members keen to capitalise on our increased visibility and impressive new designs.”
